Dr Jonas Poelmans has more than 14 years of advanced software development experience, Jonas is widely recognized as a thought leader in the field of Formal Concept Analysis and Data Discovery.
Jonas published over 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers on data and text mining counting over 1650 citations and was awarded several times with academic prizes including two best paper awards. Jonas earned his MSc in Computer Science in 2007 and his PhD (at the age of 23) in Applied Economics in 2010 from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. In 2018 he received his certification in Cybersecurity from Harvard University.
His professional achievements as CTO of the data science company Clarida Technologies were highlighted in multiple national and international news outlets, including a nomination as 2018 most promising artificial intelligence start-up by Silicon Republic.
He is an Expert Reviewer for multiple scientific and industrial funding organizations including the Research Foundation Flanders, the European Science Foundation and the Agency Flanders Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
In 2019, Jonas participated in launching a new initiative to end human trafficking and modern day slavery which received public support from the Vatican.
